Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2026
This policy explains how Voyce for Paws, a project of Be the Voyce, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 32-0760338, based in Wooster, Ohio, USA), collects and uses information when you sign up on this website or interact with our pre-launch communications.
The short version: we collect only what we need to email you about the launch. We do not sell your data. You can unsubscribe or request deletion at any time.
1.What We Collect
When you sign up for early access on this site, we collect only the information you choose to provide:
We do not automatically collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or detailed analytics fingerprints during pre-launch.
2.How We Use It
We use the information you provide only to:
- Send you updates about the Voyce for Paws launch and rollout.
- Send you tailored content based on the role you selected (e.g. fosters get foster-specific emails).
- Reach out for early-access feedback, beta invitations, and ways to help.
- Maintain a record of your consent for legal compliance.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
3.Where Your Data Lives
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the Service:
- MailerLite — stores your email and subscriber profile so we can send launch updates. (MailerLite Privacy Policy)
- Givebutter — processes donations if you choose to give. We never see or store your full payment details. (Givebutter Privacy Policy)
- OpenStreetMap / CartoCDN / Leaflet — provides the map shown on our coverage section. They do not receive personally identifying information about you.
4.AI & Automated Processing
When the Voyce for Paws app launches, photos and videos you upload of animals will be processed using artificial intelligence (AI) to assist the rescue network:
- AI may detect species, breed, approximate age, color, visible condition, and urgency level from the image.
- AI may generate a Rescue Card and a Vet Card based on what it detects, to share with the network.
- AI is used as a starting point only — final decisions about an animal’s care rest with the people, rescuers, and veterinarians involved.
We rely on trusted third-party AI services to perform this processing. We do not use your uploaded photos to train AI models, and we instruct our AI providers not to use your data to train their models, where their terms allow.
AI outputs are not medical advice. You can choose not to use AI features when the app launches; you may still report an animal manually with your own description.
5.Cookies and Tracking
This site does not currently set tracking cookies for advertising or analytics. Your browser may set basic technical cookies as needed to display the page. Embedded third-party content (such as the map) may use technical cookies governed by their own privacy policies.
6.Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we have about you.
- Correct any inaccurate information.
- Delete your information from our records.
- Withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email or by emailing us.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@bethevoyce.org. We’ll respond within 30 days.
7.Children’s Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, please email us at info@bethevoyce.org.
8.Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as you remain on our pre-launch list and as long as is necessary for the launch and ongoing communications. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will remove your information from our active subscriber list within 30 days.
9.Security
We rely on the security practices of MailerLite and other reputable providers to protect your information in transit and at rest. While no system can be perfectly secure, we will notify affected subscribers in the event of a known data breach involving their personal information, in line with applicable law.
10.International Users
Our infrastructure is operated primarily in the United States. If you are signing up from outside the U.S. (including the EU, UK, Canada, or elsewhere), your information may be stored and processed in the United States. By signing up, you consent to this transfer.
11.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers by email.
